National Constitution Day, also known as Samvidhan Divas, falls on November 26 each year. On this day in 1949, the Constituent Assembly ratified the Indian Constitution. Nonetheless, on January 26, 1950, the Indian Constitution went into force. Republic Day is observed on January 26 each year.
Starting the Conference Speech on Constitution Day
To all, a greeting. Allow me to say a few words on this National Constitutional Day celebration for our country.
On this very significant day, Constitution Day, I am thankful to each and every one of you for giving me this amazing chance to speak. One of the most significant turning points in India's journey towards independence and self-government came with the adoption of the constitution on November 26, 1949. The Indian constitution was a legal instrument in India once it came into effect on January 26, 1950.
The constituent assembly, which represents a wide range of communities, is a reflection of the variety found in our nation. To create a thorough document that would accurately reflect the current situation of our nation, our founding fathers needed roughly two years to write. Unlike many other nations that gained independence at the same time, India has enjoyed stability and prosperity as a democracy ever since its constitution was enacted over a century ago.
The Indian Constitution is much more than just an assortment of articles and schedules. India's institutions of government are established and strengthened, but it also has other advantages. Indeed, research has labeled the constitution as a "Transformative Constitution," implying that it is infused with a future-focused perspective and reflection. Since the law only modifies an item and has not up until now needed a complete alteration, our constitution was drafted following sufficient investigation and scrutiny. As the father of the Indian Constitution, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar is a remarkable leader for whom full responsibility for the constitution's formulation goes.The law has elements pertaining to social justice and economic fairness for all Indian citizens, not just India as it is currently.
The fact that the Indian constitution was drafted during the country's difficult independence era, when protecting the lives and well-being of millions of people uprooted by the division, is one of its most intriguing features. The Constituent Assembly created a Constitution that honors the extraordinary diversity of the country, encompassing all languages, ethnicities, castes, and social classes, in the midst of violence and uncertainty. The Constituent Assembly received support and inspiration from a number of foreign countries during this difficult period.
One crucial lesson that our constitution writers imparted to us is the importance of exercising great patience when making decisions involving individuals from various communities. It was challenging for me to come to an agreement that would benefit every community in our nation. In his "Mann Ki Baat" motivational speech this year, 2018, our Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi, emphasized this very fact.
I am thrilled to have the opportunity to discuss our Constitution today and how it is special due to its openness to diversity, acceptance of and utilization of intellectual traditions and lessons from around the world, as well as its dedication to social welfare and uplift. We should all adhere to a strict interpretation of the constitution in the modern era.
India is a secular, democratic, socialist republic according to its constitution. This Constitution encourages Indians to be brothers and sisters in addition to guaranteeing justice, equality, and liberty. In addition to outlining the parameters for the organization, functions, and authority of the government, the Indian Constitution lays out the essential rights, guiding ideals, and responsibilities of its people.
